Brooklyn Tailors

There are a few essentials in life: food, water, family and a set of perfectly fitting dress shirts. Meet Brooklyn Tailors, a small collective of highly detailed artisans creating both great fitting off-the-shelf shirts as well as custom-made shirts for just about every occasion. We’re fans of their Pinpoint Oxford for $145.

Teroforma Whiskey Stones

Whiskey Stones

If you want to sip your Scotch like Don Draper—but don’t want to let the ice dilute your 50 year-old single malt—we’ve got the solution: Whiskey Stones (Amazon, $20). It’s really quite simple, since stones don’t melt, you get all the benefits of the chill of ice without adding a drop of water to your drink. Made from Vermont Soapstone and designed by Teroforma, there’s no longer any shame in asking for your whiskey on the rocks. Cheers.

Diving Slate Board for Shower Notes

Dive Slates

We were taken by surprise this morning when Cameron Moll recommended using a diving slate for capturing ideas while in the shower. We’ve all had those lightbulb moments while standing under the fall of water, but remembering them by the time you dry off is a challenge. No more! Dive slates are used by scuba divers to take notes underwater, so the drip-drop from your shower won’t keep you from documenting ‘the next big thing.’

Amazon has a variety of diving slates in a range of sizes and prices ranging from about $7 to $20.

Public D8

Public D8

A nice modern hybrid-city bike for those who want to cruise in style. The Public D8 works well for long rides, has slightly thicker tires than its road bike brethren to take a pot hole or two, and sells with a ‘Love at First Ride’ guarantee. Useful for buying expensive things over the internet—and makes us wonder when Zappos will have a ‘Love at First Walk’ return policy to save us some ill fitting shoes. The D8 is built with a steel frame and comes with eight speeds, you can choose from the available in three colors and ride off to Starbucks for $1,150.

Crew button-down madras shirt is perfect for any summer outing. The Madras shirt comes in nine colors—though we like the plantation madras, in particular. Available online or in-store for $70.

Bradshaw Coffee Table by Room and Board

Bradshaw Coffee Table

Coffee tables tend to either be bland or eccentric, it’s a bit hard to find a good one with a balance of the two. We’re in love with the Bradshaw Coffee Table from Room and Board. Unfortunately it’s escaped our grasp a few times at the outlet store, but one day we’ll nab it for that reduced price. Until then we’ll stare at this 42″ diameter with longing. A solid feeling table available in maple, cherry, or walnut, you can pick one up new for $899 or keep your eye open for it at your local Room and Board Outlet.
